Forced Feeding
  --27 January, 2009, 21:35:21
My Christmas fish is sick. She really hasn't eaten much since I got her the day after Christmas. At the time she was more parasite than fish, so I tried a number of treatments. Poor Little Fish has been seasoned (various drugs), salted (actual salt) and boiled (95 degrees F)yet she still fares poorly. A few days ago she took a turn for the worse and I had to choose between euthanizing her and force feeding her. I opted for the latter, and she seems to be improving, though she still refuses to eat. Force feeding will continue until appetite improves. *Sigh*
Earlier I referred to my quantum course as a fire hose to the face. I would like to upgrade that statement to 2x4 to the face instead. This week's homework assignment, due today, was 23 pages of grueling calculus, trig functions and imaginary numbers applied to vague concepts. Tomorrow in lecture, the prof will cover the material that the homework assignment covered.
So between fish and physics I've been a bit busy. Sadly there isn't a mini pic to go with this update. I painted the Jeff Grace samurai from Darksword minis, he'll be posted here after their site updates. I've been working on two contest entries for Genghis con which I can't post until after the contest.(I'll be teaching classes there btw.)

Just plain lazy
  --7 January, 2009, 12:08:52
Recently I received an email from my old highschool, it was to notify me that the class of '99 had arranged their 10 year reunion. I got this email because, earlier last year, I visited the alumni website to see if my class, '98, was going to have a reunion. Nope. No one got around to organizing one. Class of '98, I'd salute you if I felt like it.
Speaking of lazy, that'd be me lately. Winter break was spent mostly around the house. First because of being snowed in, and later because of stomach flu. I haven't updated the site simply because I've been too lazy to upload pictures.
Classes are back in session and I'm taking my very last class--quantum mechanics. Should be just as deadly as thermodynamics was this summer, it has the same prof too.
Got my grades from last quarter. 3.9 in the biochem lab (the one where I spritzed myself with toxin) and a 3.7 in drama101. I have been duly mocked for doing better in a lab class than drama.
Since I'm writing from the campus library I don't have my files with me, so I can't fix the lack of new mini pictures right now. But I will. Tonight, I promise.
*Imagine there's a picture. It's easy if you try...*
*edit: now it's easier*
