Good Karma Furniture
  --28 April, 2007, 10:54:11
Many years ago I had the pleasure of living with an absolutely lovely girl named Laura. She was great fun. One day I came home from school to discover that a chair had followed her home. She called it her good karma chair, and explained that sometimes good furniture happens to good people.
Yesterday I randomly chose to walk home from school a different way. On the side of the road I discovered a wonderful set of a couch, matching table and a sign with the word "free" scribbled on it. It was Good Karma furniture! I was quite excited, but since I don't have a car, I kept walking. I realized that I would have to wait for one of my car enabled friends to get home from work before I could claim my prize. In the meantime, my good karma furniture might become somebody else's good karma furniture. That's no good! I solved this problem by carrying off the sofa cushions. Who'd want a sofa without cushions? It worked! The furniture was waiting for me by the time my cousin got home to help me with it. Good karma furniture has a way of working out. :)

Tonight We Dine
  --26 April, 2007, 12:47:06
The local grocery store has a new policy. They've started selling the meat that only has one good day left. The neat part is that it is deeply discounted. This makes me very happy. (College tuition and a love of travel makes budget food a necessity.) Now when I'm trying to decide what to cook for the week, I just wander down to the store to see what they're offering. This week's main course is shepard's pie made from ground buffalo burgers. Mmmmm!

Destroyer News Update
  --24 April, 2007, 10:45:04
Today I destroyed the espresso machine. I'm not sure how. It was doing its job, and I turned my back to it, and BAM! Pieces everywhere. I took it apart, put it back together, and tried again. Again, BAM! Which leaves me with the dillemma, how do you fix the coffee machine before you've had coffee?

Good Week
  --23 April, 2007, 10:34:51
This week has been great! Debby and Mengu (painter peeps) were in town for a mini event. They came by for a visit and we trekked up onto Cougar Mountain. It's as lovely as ever.
I went back to the mountain on Saturday for my fieldtrip, "Bugs and Shrooms." People were a little suprized by how easily I was able to spot the various bugs. I forgot to mention my recent practice.
So I'm a week older and a week wiser. My wisdom for the week is; don't go see the movie "Pathfinder". Just don't.

Paint Slinging
  --17 April, 2007, 20:43:04
There's a new mini up in my gallery. She's the Variant Pirate Lass from Darksword Miniatures. I'm a huge fan of the Firefly series, so I painted her to look like Zoey

A Day Without Paint
  --10 April, 2007, 20:44:37
I spent a whole day without painting. Not even a little. This is really fairly unusual for me, because there's almost always enough time for just a basecoat.
Yesterday morning I was trying to fix a deliquent garage door, and it pinched the tips of my painting fingers. Numb fingers are the latest in Destroyer News.

Life is Good
  --9 April, 2007, 10:04:22
Weekends don't come much better than this last one. Friday was record breakingly beautiful. Kids all over campus were playing frisbee, which made me a little sad. I'm old enough to have babysat for all of them. Plus I'm terrible with a frisbee, so I'm a little too shy to ask to join. Just as I was getting home from class I got a call from my friend, Callie, wanting to know if wanted to join them on the beach for some frisbee. We smuggled some alcohol onto the beach and then tossed around the frisbee for several hours. It was warm enough to be barefoot. We played until the sun had set behind the mountains, and across the bay.

I've been remiss!
  --1 April, 2007, 15:41:18
It completely slipped my mind. Last fall a group of my friends from Indiana released a movie that they've been working on. It's called "Dead at the Box Office." It's about zombies in a movie theater, and it's so bad, it's good. Plus for the miniature hobby enthusiasts, there are a lot of hobby people in the movie. The great Chris FitzPatrick of crocodilegames co-stars as exposition lad. Jennifer Haley and I both make cameo appearances as well. The movie can be found here.
