Tiny Grey Tornado

Nom is going through a phase. He destroys stuff, everything must be bapped and bitten. My poor older cat is not sure what to do. Her new companion isn't as tranquil as she'd like. In fact he likes to pounce on her when's she using the liter box. This has made for...tense situations.
I blame Nom's traumatic childhood. When he was just a wee kitty he was endlessly chased around the house by his butt. He'd run away from it, terrified, as fast as he could go, but it would follow him. As he grew older he learned to fight back, however the butt learned how to kick. The cat-halves are at war. The front half bites the butt, and the back half kicks the snot out of the front half.
Recently I received an email asking for about skin painting techniques. Unfortunately there was a typo in the address so I can't write back. Here is some advice for those who are having difficulty painting flesh:
"When I paint skin, I usually keep the gradations between the different layers of color pretty small. When I add a lighter color, I make sure that the light color covers the color underneath completely. Sometimes this requires several coats of paint, but it prevents blotches.
If your mini's skin is getting lumps in it, it might be the fault of your brush too small/fine.) I use nylon brushes (Reaper's) for most of my painting, usually a 2/0 and a 3/0 for faces. When I paint small details on the face I switch to a Windsor Newton Series 7 Miniature size 0 brush.
Also, if lumps were your problem, you can smooth them over by painting on a layer of gloss varnish, and then painting on top of it."
A new mini in the gallery too. This is Brahyn by freebooter miniatures. She was a commission piece and the client had the cool idea of setting her in "Seven Romans" by Frank Frazetta. I've taken pictures of her in progress, and as soon as edit and write about them, I'll post 'em in an article her.
