It only took one day...
  --18 June, 2007, 17:19:56
John had only been in Seattle for less than 24 hours before we got the police called on us. Which sounds wonderfully titillating, but was actually rather silly. My father owns a bit of woods out in Issaquah. John and I thought we'd go have a look around, see how many trees fell over during the winter storms and generally just meander about. This is in a community that is sealed off by a passcode activated gate. Apparently they're not very used to visitors there. We poked around the property and then we walked back to John's truck, parked in front of our driveway. The nearest neighbor was in her car beside it--motor running, on her cell phone. As we approached she rolled down her window and asked us who we were. I replied that I'm my father's daughter. This seemed to settle her somewhat. She was quite upset, and immediately proclaimed that the police were on the way. *flutter flutter* And she'd had them run John's plates! She also quickly pointed out that she'd called her husband at work and had him do the calling. Since I have every right to be where I was, I wasn't feeling too sympathetic. But I did try to make nice a little bit. After some chit chat she calmed down, and told her husband to cancel that call. My gesture of chitchat was returned, and she told me all about a bear she'd seen a while back. After seeing her reaction to neighbors visiting in a gated community, I'll be keeping my eyes open for a large squirrel.

Good quarter, good weekend, good day
  --13 June, 2007, 17:30:47
On Sunday I went to Dungeness Spit with a good friend of mine. It's a rather lovely place on the Olympic Penninsula. Five miles of beach extend into the Puget sound. We saw bald eagles, inquisitive sea lions and an abundance of unusual birds.
There was also a lot of driftwood, some of it quite large. I've always enjoyed clambering on these and jumping from log to log. It became somewhat more exciting when one of the logs, above a cliff, started tipping when I stood on it. Darn physics. Fortunately it was a small cliff and arriving quickly at the bottom wasn't painful.
Some good news: I got an A in my biology class.
Some better news: My boyfriend arrived from Texas for good today.

Back to Work
  --8 June, 2007, 13:32:08
Well another finals week has come and gone. As usual I worried far too much about it, and devoted much time to studying. The studying paid off. I think I aced my biology final. However my website has been a bit neglected. To make it up to ya, here's a link to Lord Jester. He took third place at Reapercon. As I get caught up, I'll be adding more pics.
You might also notice that I've been slacking on my auction minis. The next one is almost done. All that needs to be done is her base and her eyes. Why aren't her eyes done? Well, I've been saving them for a tutorial. That should be finished in the next week or two.
