dit dit doh!
  --31 December, 2007, 20:13:30
There was a destroyer moment a couple of hours ago. I tripped over my computer's power cable. My news update page was open and for a while there were a couple of news posts with only a couple of +s.
Anyway, it's all better now. Happy New Year's to everyone. I've posted pictures of my trip to the coast. They are hosted using the magic of facebook, because it's much, much faster than editing and uploading them by hand here.
I've been something of a paint demon these past couple of weeks, so I hope to have many minis to show y'all over the next month. The minis themselves are done, but the showing part is what that 'hope' references. My new year's resolution is to update my site once a week.

It was only a year
  --22 December, 2007, 12:49:42
Well, more like nine months. In March I went to China, Hong Kong, Macau and the Phillipines. It was one heckuva trip. There were many, many pictures. So many in fact that I was overwhelmed by the prospect of editting them all, uploading them, and coming up with clever captions. My father has kindly done the hard part for me. Most of the pictures are now up in my events gallery.
Classes went well this quarter. Grades are in, and I got an A in biochemistry. w00t!
Now I need to get caught up with painting, and perhaps even start my Christmas shopping. :P

A river ran through it
  --14 December, 2007, 23:38:24
It's been a busy couple of weeks. My last final was Wednesday. It wasn't my most glorious quarter, but it went pretty well.
Seattle was in the news there for a bit due to one of our better known products. Rain. And we had a bumper crop. So much so, that a small, flat river started at one side of my basement and headed to the other. My priming box will never be the same!
The art show was quite nice. I enjoyed the coffee and the company. It turns out that woman I shared my table with had taken a ballet class with me darn near a decade ago.
People's responses to my minis were also fun to watch. There were actually quite a few more miniature enthusiasts than I expected to see--and quite a few wives and grandmothers of painters. I even got to talk shop with a couple folks.
As expected the responses weren't all positive. The proper art fans rather pointedly avoided looking at my display case. The upper middle class mothers were the best though. They just glowered. One was forced to look at the case by her lively five year old daughter. Hoo boy! The looks she gave me would've made a Gorgon envious.
Last week I had a stealth post. Little Miss Pigtails and Smokey.
I had to get to class before I had time to make a post.
This week I have a Warcrow mini. The first I've painted. She's a great sculpt and was quite fun to paint.
What a long post! One last thing. I'm all caught up on emails. If you're expecting a response but haven't gotten one, please email me again. Either I totally spaced writing back, or your letter was lost in the ether from when my site was down.
