Cold
  --16 December, 2008, 0:35:57

Seattle is enjoying a cold snap. Or at least I am. It's abruptly 20 degrees colder than usual and somewhat snowy. This came in very handy earlier, for I was forgetful in a squishy way. Back in October we had a pumpkin carving party. Most of the jack o'lanterns went on the front porch. However, there was one more pumpkin than carver. This sad, forgotten pumpkin went onto the back porch where it went squishy out of sight. Luckily the cold snap turned it into a pumpkin ice lump, which was easy to carry to the compost bin.

Things are going well in my fish tank. The shimp lay eggs and then eat them. One little fish was sick, he had three fins into the toilet when I decided to give him a salt bath. (A standard fish treatment) My roomate saw all this and asked me what his name was. I replied, "Ashes to ashes..." That was last week--Ashes is doing much better now and has re-established his place in my collection of fish which really shouldn't be alive.

One of my newer minis, Daenerys from Darksword:

T'was the Week Before Finals...
  --1 December, 2008, 1:30:08

T'was the week before finals and the freshmen are flailing. Or at least having difficulty keeping track of their assignments and personal possesions. In various locations on campus, over the course of three days I found: A gold and diamond necklace, a cell phone, and a wallet. They're starting to look at me funny in the lost and found office.

I just finished a big project.

This diorama was a commission project. The story behind these characters--Holt and Aiyana from Warmachine--is that Aiyana is questing for the cause of some bad stuff that's been going on in her religion and Holt's spying on her whilst acting as her bodyguard. What she discovered here is the carbon source for a particle accelerator, supplied by my mom's lab.
