Welcome to my commissions information page. Probably the most relevant bit of information here is that I charge $400 to paint a standard 28mm figure, and more for larger or more ornate minis.

If you’re shocked and outraged that I charge so much, may I suggest Pictor’s Studio or Cathy Hamaker. They offer far less expensive alternatives, and are very nice people.

Still reading? Groovy. My goal in offering commissions is to paint high end miniatures for collectors who are looking for display pieces, or really intimidating generals for their armies.

Currently I’m accepting one commission a month. As a miniature industry freelancer I get to paint a lot of wonderful minis, so I’m a tad fussy. If I don’t like a mini, I won’t paint it. This helps me avoid burnout, keeps my turnaround times small, and ensures that you’ll like the final result.

Now for the fine print. When I accept a commission, I require half of payment before I will start working. We will then come to an agreement about colors, basing etc. If you change your mind about your color scheme after I’ve painted it, I’ll charge you for the change. I prefer minis to be sent to me unassembled and unprimed, so that I can meticulously clean the mold lines off, putty bad joins, etc. Once I’m finished, I’ll send you a photo for approval. I will ship the mini once the final payment has cleared. Unless I mention time constraints in correspondence with you, I will mail the mini within one month of receiving the first half of the payment. I will let you know beforehand what time frame to expect. If I miss my deadline I’ll knock a little off the price depending on how late it is. However, since I’ve been doing this for years, I’m quite confident that this will never be an issue.

I retain the rights to use photographs of my minis as I see fit. Usually this means that I might post them in my galleries, on coolminiornot or possibly a magazine article at some point. You may post pictures of my minis on your personal web page as long as you credit me and let me know in an email.
