Ireland is full of marvelous vistas.
We thought that the rocks on the right looked like a face. When photographed however, the eyes lit up.
These are my parents on awesome basalt columns. They are both scientist if you can't tell from their hair.
It's best to get your pictures of them right on the first try, because they start looking dubious.
My father on basalt columns.
Aren't those rocks neat? I think this is one of the neatest natural formations. It's called the Giant's Causeway.
That's me in the grey coat, with the condom on my head. I wasn't used to the cold and had to borrow a hat.
If Sauron were real, I bet he would have approved of these for his gate.
Must climb the rocks. I had my picture taken in this chimney in 2000 too.
The Irish tourists were quite amused both times.

Ireland really is beautiful.
Yup.
To give you a sense of scale, I'd be hard pressed to wrap my arms around the columns you see in the distance.

More vista.
You can take a train to the Giant's Causeway. The conductors wear orange uniforms, which turn black on their fronts.
Mom isn't sure that this is a good idea.
My dad has a look for himself.
And caught offguard.
Notice how dry we are. Let's call this one the 'before' photo.
The water droplets don't show up too well, but we're soaked. It never actually rained.
I think I can see some dry spots on my father's trousers.
It turns out that they make clouds particularly damp in Ireland.
We were walking through some low flying clouds over a peat bog.
The peat bog was on top a mountain, swathed in clouds. It think this photo may have been used as our Christmas card.
